This workshop aims at:
The workshop will focus on studying real working conditions in a cellulose factory (cellulose is used in paper or cardboard manufacture). The factory’s settings will include various zones and workshops, such as unloading, storage, raw material bleaching zone (black liquor), or quality control area.
A file will be provided to participants: work setting and environment, working procedures, used chemicals will all be described in the file; a catalogue of PPE will also be provided. Participants will then be asked to analyze the dangers, and choose appropriate PPE in four working conditions (each of the following working conditions will be treated by a small group within the workshop):
All participants will gather on Thursday 25th 2015 in the evening to work together, helped by both foreign and Chinese coaches. They will analyze the given scenarios, choose PPE, as well as set solutions for PPE use. Each group will prepare a presentation of their choice, helped by pictures on chemical risks provided by the coaches. Their presentation should detail the reasons of their PPE choices, and describe how those PPE should be used.
On Friday 26th 2015, while presenting their workshop conclusions, Q&A with both the experts committee and the audience will allow us to set up the major principles of PPE choice.
